Everything you need to know about finding, saving, and tracking planning applications with LeadLinka.
LeadLinka is a planning application intelligence tool for property professionals — builders, developers, architects, surveyors, and agents. It aggregates live planning application data from UK local councils and lets you discover, filter, save, and track applications relevant to your work.
Click Sign In in the header, then choose Create account. Enter your name, email address, and a password. Check your inbox for a verification email and click the link to activate your account. Once verified you can sign in and start saving leads immediately.
On the sign-in page click Forgot password? and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't appear. The reset link expires after one hour.
You can browse and search planning applications on the Discover page without signing in. To save leads, set up email alerts, or access contact information you'll need a free account.
Use the search bar in the header. Make sure the type selector shows Discover, then type a postcode, outcode (e.g. SW1), or town name (e.g. Leeds) and press Enter. The Discover feed will load with applications near that location.
You can also use the Postcode filter in the left-hand sidebar on the Discover page for more precise radius searches.
In the header search bar, switch the type selector to Councils, then type the council name (e.g. Barnet, Bristol). Alternatively, use the Council dropdown filter on the Discover page.
The sidebar on the Discover page lets you narrow results by:

Loadouts are saved filter presets. If you regularly search for the same type of work — say, large residential extensions in South London — you can save those filters as a loadout and load them in one click next time. Click Save as loadout in the filter sidebar after configuring your filters.
These are feed-tuning controls on each application card. Clicking More like this tells the feed to surface similar applications; Less like this pushes that type down. Your preferences are stored locally. To reset them, click Reset feed tuning above the results.
Click the bookmark icon on any application card in the Discover feed. You need to be signed in. Saved leads appear in your Saved leads page, accessible from the header search dropdown or your account menu.
See Pricing for the full feature comparison.
CSV export is available on the Professional plan and above. On the Saved leads page, click Export CSV to download all your saved applications including address, reference, status, council, and description.
Yes — apply a keyword or filter first (the button activates once a filter is set), then click + Add All in the toolbar above the results. This saves every matching application on the current page to your leads.
Go to the Track page and enter the planning reference number (e.g. 22/01234/FUL) or a postcode. You can also set up a planning alert to be emailed when the status of an application changes.
Enter an address, postcode, or reference on the Track page and click Set alert. You'll receive a confirmation email straight away. When LeadLinka detects a status change on that application (e.g. Pending → Approved), you'll be emailed automatically.
Alerts are stored against your account. You can manage or cancel them from your account settings.
LeadLinka scrapes council planning portals periodically (typically nightly for most councils). Status changes are usually reflected within 24 hours of the council updating their portal. Some councils update their portals less frequently, which may add a short delay.

LeadLinka currently covers a growing list of UK local planning authorities. Coverage is expanding — we're working towards full national coverage of England, Scotland, and Wales. You can browse by council on the Discover page to see which are currently available.
If your council isn't listed, let us know — we prioritise additions based on user requests.
Most councils are scraped nightly, so the data is typically no more than 24 hours behind the council's own portal. High-priority councils may be updated more frequently. The application card shows the date the information was last received from the council.
LeadLinka collects data from publicly available council planning portals. All planning applications are public records under UK planning law. LeadLinka aggregates and indexes this data to make it searchable. We do not hold or distribute any non-public information.
Where publicly available, applicant and agent names are shown. Phone numbers, emails, and company details (where available via Companies House) are being rolled out progressively on paid plans. This data is sourced from public registers only.
Yes — API access is available on Enterprise plans. The LeadLinka API lets you query planning applications programmatically, integrate data into your own tools, or build automated workflows. See API pricing for available tiers and rate limits.
